October 2024

November 12, 2024

Good Morning Bakerview Families,

October's good weather has been a positive influence on the building, our students continue to work hard in class and be great citizens on campus! We were thrilled to be able to welcome all of our students with a Bakerview hoodie this year. We strayed from our usual blue or black and opted for a forest green colour. The green was a hit and we love to see our BCL students wearing their hoodies on campus and around town.

Careers Update
Seet, our Careers teacher, has already had one cohort of students successfully complete their Food Safe training and one cohort of students successfully complete their First Aid training. These trainings are available to all students at no cost and we encourage all interested students. Upcoming training sessions are posted in classrooms and outside the Learning Support Services (Counselling) room.

Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is Monday Oct 14 and there are no classes in session that day. We will be hosting our annual student Thanksgiving lunch on Thursday Oct 10.

Upcoming Student Field Trip
Our Indigenous program is planning a field trip to XÁytem for all students on the morning of Oct 29. Interested students can connect with their classroom team.

Parent Teacher Interviews
Wednesday Oct 23 is a regular bell schedule day for all Bakerview students; we do not have an early dismissal on this day. Thursday Oct 24 is our Bakerview Parent Teacher Interview Day. There are no classes for students on Oct 24 to accommodate meetings with families and the school for student Individual Education Plans and Integrated Care Team Meetings. Classroom teams will be reaching out to families to book appointments for Oct 24 to discuss your student's progress this year.
