November 2024
Good Morning Bakerview Families,
We had a great time celebrating the end of October with our annual school wide Halloween Trick or Treating. The students were so polite and costumes were great! Our staff had a Disney Halloween theme and won a district contest for 100% participation!
Students of the Month
Congratulations to our September Student Of Month Zack MacDonald and our October Student of the Month Jordin Monkman!
Indigenous Department
November is off to a great start. Our cultural activities this month involve making Bannock and a Friday morning Halq'emeylem language class that is open to any interested students. We did beading last month and will be bringing it back due to popular demand!
Careers
Our Careers offerings this month include Serving It Right and Eyelash Tech certifications. We are also offering a WCB Young Workers certification for the first time! Interested students are encouraged to sign up with our Careers teacher Seet and we expect to be able to offer (some of) these again in the spring.
Ceremonies
We will be honouring Indigenous Veterans Day (Nov 8) and Remembrance Day (Nov 11) at a school wide assembly on Thursday Nov 7, 2024
Report Cards
Student Learning Updates (report cards) will be available for parents/guardians on November 7, 2024 through to November 22, 2024.
They are accessible online and instructions on how to log into MyEd are on our website. We have also emailed instructions for report cards with our November update through School Messenger. Alternately, you can request a printed copy.
Upcoming Dates
Friday Nov 8 is a Professional Development Day, there are no classes for students.
Monday Nov 11 is Remembrance Day, there are no classes in session.
Wishing you all a wonderful month!
