Good Morning Bakerview Families,
We've made it to June! This is an exciting time as we celebrate our graduates with our grad ceremony and formal!
It's also a very busy time as we all work towards the end of this school year. We encourage all students to continue to attend and complete coursework until our last day of classes on June 20th. We know the sunny weather might be calling their name but school is still in session and there is always work to complete!
School Program Planning for the 2025-26 School Year
Our school teams have completed our annual class reviews and we have plans for student placements next year. Staff will reach out to parents and students if there are any new recommendations regarding program placement and graduation track planning. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your classroom team.
During the week of June 23-27, 2025, classroom staff will be reaching out to returning student families to book audit required intake meetings for the week of Sept 2-5, 2025. Thank you for booking these appointments ahead of time and, if your plans change over the summer, please reach out to our office via email bakerview@abbyschools.ca or call, 604-859-7820.
Indigenous Department Update
The District Indigenous Grad Ceremony for Indigenous students across the whole district takes place on June 11 at the Abby Arts. This is an additional event for Indigenous students and does not replace our school graduation ceremonies that take place on June 12!
June 21 is Indigenous People's Day and we will be celebrating with 2 events on Thursday June 19th. We will honour all of our Bakerview Student's Of The Month with an Indigenous Honouring Ceremony on the morning of June 19th at the school. In the afternoon of June 19th, all classes are invited to tie die t-shirts and celebrate Indigenous people and culture!
Careers Department Update
We have completed our career training opportunities for the school year. Students can continue to meet with our Careers teacher Seet to update resumes and check out the JOBS board, where we post current job openings within the community.
For all students who will have ALL GRADUATION requirements completed by June 30 and are seeking support with employment training, there is a 5 week paid training program (900am-300pm). The goal after successful completion of the program is to participate in a 10 week Quality Employment experience. Students are expected to engage in 2-3 intake meetings with the facilitator prior to the start of July 21. Interested graduates should connect with Seet.
Grad 2025 Update
Grad Ceremony
Our grad ceremony is June 12, 2025 at 3:30pm at the Abbotsford Arts Centre (next to Abby Sr).
Grad fees are 50$ and can be paid via School Cash Online or in our school office. This covers cap and gown, diploma folder and composite grad class photo, and all fees associated with the graduation ceremony on June 12. Grad lists are currently being updated as student complete courses. If you are unsure as to your student's grad status, please reach out to your classroom team or contact the office.
Grad Formal
Our Grad Formal celebration event takes place on June 13th from 12-2pm at Bakerview. Tickets are 10$ (includes a buffet lunch, prizes, caricatures and activities) and are available for purchase via School Cash Online.

Graduation Ceremony Photos and Diplomas

Report Cards- Learning Updates
Student learning updates will be available on myEd at 3pm on June 27th. Your student can share their login information with you in order to access those reports. Here is a link on how to log in and view learning updates. https://bakerview.abbyschools.ca/myed-bc-portal-0
Individual Education Plan updates will be emailed to guardian on or before June 27th by classroom teachers.
