Good Morning Bakerview Families,
We started our February with a snow day! A reminder to students to dress for the weather and be careful on walkways around the campus. Our team works hard to remove snow and salt for our safety!
On January 23 (the halfway point of our school year), we celebrated everyone at Bakerview's birthday with a Birthday Party Day! Students received a small gift (wireless headphones) and we had a pizza and cake at lunch!
Report cards for semester 1 have been completed and are available online via myEd. Instructions to access report cards can be found here: https://bakerview.abbyschools.ca/myed-bc-portal-0
Individual Education Plans for students have been also updated and emailed to guardians. If you have any questions, please reach out!
Classroom teams will be reaching out to book Parent Teacher Interviews/Care Team Meetings/Integrated Care Team Meetings. These appointments will be scheduled on Thursday Feb 27th.

Indigenous Department
This month we are learning about the significance of The Seasons of the Moon.
Our Friday morning Halq'emeylem language class starts up again this week and remains open to all interested students.
Careers
We have a retired social worker Cindy presenting on Feb 6 as part of our Career Speaker Circuit. She will share information on the path to becoming and the experience working as a Social Worker.
On Feb 12 Doug from STEP - Skills Trades Employment Program to present to interested students.
Super Host certification training takes place at Bakerview on Feb 12 and 13. Interested students should connect with their classroom team and Seet, our careers teacher.
