Happy February Bakerview Families!
As someone who is new to Bakerview, I am constantly impressed by the level of care our staff and students have to this school. There are a variety of activities to get involved in that make our school community more connected. We have had a good start to the second semester. We had over 100 courses completed so far this year and many more in the works!
Congratulations to Joy Brown!
Joy was selected as one of 10 District Indigenous Role Models. Joy does a lot of student leadership events and participates in our Student Voice group. We are so proud of you, Joy!

Parent Teacher Interviews
Thursday, February 19th. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you wish to discuss their progress. Teachers will also be reaching out to parents to book times for a meeting. Thank you for being a valuable part of your child's success at school.
Hang up to Hangout!
We are encouraging our students to put their phones away and engage in fun activities and meeting new people. This is happening on Thursdays at lunch and the turnout has been very positive!

Cell Phone Usage During Instructional Time
We are noticing cell phones are a significant distraction during instructional time for some of our students. Thank you for your support as we work to minimize distractions and help students stay focused on learning. We’ll be reminding students of this expectation and ask them to put their devices away during class time. Each classroom has now been equipped with a lock box where phones can be safely stored so they aren't a distraction to students. If a student is struggling to keep their phone away, they will be asked to put it in the lock box. We will reach out to families directly if cell phone use is directly impacting your student's achievement.
