Return to School Enhanced Safety Measures

Happy New Year Bakerview!  We are looking forward to seeing our students back in the building on Monday January 10th. As I am sure you are aware, the landscape of the pandemic continues to shift and change, and our schools are adjusting to ensure the safety of everyone.

As Bakerview is a unique school setting, many recommended safety protocols are already embedded into our daily routines.  As we prepare to welcome everyone back on Monday January 10, we have a few reminders for our students and their families & caregivers.

Daily Health Check

Parents, Students, Employees and Essential Visitors are reminded of their responsibilities to complete a Daily Health Check.  Please visit the K-12 Health Check  app for instructions.

Masks

Masks are required indoors for staff and students.

Stay home if you are sick

If your student is sick, please let the classroom or office staff know via phone, email or text.

Online Learning

In the event your student cannot attend classes in person, we want to ensure all students have access to technology while home.  If your student does not have access to a device they can use for school work at home, please connect with your classroom staff who will arrange a Chromebook for home use.

Mental Health Resources

We know this is a stressful and uncertain time for students and families.  We have created a tab on our school website with Mental Health Resources for families.  If you need support, please reach out to your classroom staff, youth care worker, our school counsellor or the admin team.

Lunch Program

Our lunch program will resume on Monday with a "Welcome Back" Ham Dinner.  There will be increased supervision during lunch to ensure the safety and once directional flow of lunch collection. If your family requires support with home food resources, please connect with your student's Youth Care Worker or classroom staff.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.

Sincerely,

Jacqueline Hall, Principal
